What would this role do?
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will assist families seeking support with autism and other related developmental disabilities by providing care in-home, at a support center or in the community.
Your goal will be to provide assistance and compassionate care to inspaniduals whose behaviors can range from mild to severe.
Role Responsibilities:
- Direct Support Professional staff provide assistance and supervise consumers in activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Responsible for adhering to and documenting an inspanidual's program as directed by the Program Coordinator, or Department Manager. Such as program design/behavioral support and/or intervention plans.
- Be able to fulfill any number of roles to fit the unique programming needs of each inspanidual client while supporting at different stages of the client's life including but not limited to: at an afterschool program, at a college/university, at his or her part time job, and at a Day Program or Group Home setting.
- Responsible for adherence to standards, procedures and schedules established by their supervisor.
- Communicate information and/or issues that arise in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
- Attend and complete all initial and on-going training requirements.
- Meet punctuality and attendance standards as outlined by the organization.
- Document consumers' progress and communicate findings to program coordinator.
- Prepare and submit behavioral and incident reports as necessary.
- Be prepared to adequately manage and de-escalate behavioral outbursts including but not limited to physical and verbal aggression, property destruction, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, and self-stimulatory behaviors.
Must Haves:
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum)
- Reliable Transportation
- Successfully complete LiveScan background check, employment verification and TB screening
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs. while assisting consumers.
- Be able to run, bend, sit and stand for periods at a time.

- Demonstrates effective communication and shows ability to implement existing behavioral plans.
- Implement outlined plans to achieve desired goals.
- Ability to connect with clients and families by adapting to their specific needs.
- Be comfortable working in clients’ homes.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patient’s natural environment, which may include being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., community skills, recess in a school setting, etc.)
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation (we value transparency) $19.00-$20.50/hour
- $300.00 Hiring Bonus for part-time employees offered when 150 clinical hours are worked within 6-months
- $600.00 Hiring Bonus for part-time employees offered when 300 clinical hours are worked within 6-months
- Monday-Friday: Flexible hours between 10:00AM- 10:00PM
- Saturday-Sunday Flexible hours between 9:00AM-5:00PM
